This was the very first BJD I ever ordered. And after owning him for just over a year, I've decided to write my thoughts:
Resin tone: I ordered the natural skin color, and compared to other companies, the natural one is a little more yellow while others tend to be a lighter peach. So when ordering hand parts from other companies, take this into consideration.
Size: A decent average 1/4 size that can have custom parts switched out fairly easy. So far I haven't had trouble getting fitted clothes for him. And especially when it comes to shoes.
The faceup: His eye paint was much darker then I thought they would be based on the photos. While there is a fair warning on purchase, I would recommend not getting the face up unless you're looking for something very Gothic in tone. But otherwise, it was a lovely faceup, very clean and nicely done. The eye holes are much more narrow then the pictures would suggest, so his sculpt has a higher inclination to be more antagonistic in character.
Joints: The joints in the elbows are very kicky and the sculpture itself is rather limited in movement for the arms. The joint in the upper thigh near the hips does allow for 360 degree rotation, but no bending ball-joint. Meaning this model will not allow you to have him sitting on the floor with the knees raised. Farther limiting his pose-ability.
Final Notes: Overall, I'm still pleased with his purchase. He is a fine doll, and will give me many opportunities to dress up and give photo shoots. If you're looking for a first doll, he's not a bad starter. But for those of you who need more pose-ability in the joints, be aware that he's a bit stiff in the arms and hips.
